This is the demo I brought to the band. We liked it as it was so, with the exception of Tara's ethereal vocals, it didn't change at all.
lyrics
My guardian angel's in some tenement kitchen,
flicking ashes down the drain,
and I do believe, she don't even know my name.
She checks the time but the clocks have stopped and,
all the faces read the same,
and I do believe, she don't even know my name.
Baby I should,
leave right now they've,
held the midnight train.
Come here and touch my,
finger-tips I,
won't be back again.
Caught my angel sitting in the dark,
smoking cigarettes and smiling at the rain,
and I do believe, she don't even know her name.
Saw my baby wandering the back streets,
the moonlight was beading into grains,
and I do believe, she don't even know her name.
Maybe I should,
leave tomorrow,
thank-you all the same.
Keep my bags but,
pack my razor,
I won't be back again.
My ragged angel's in some tenement kitchen,
flicking her ashes down the drain,
and I do believe, she don't even know my name.
Baby I should,
leave right now they've,
held the midnight train.
Come here and touch my,
finger-tips I,
won't be back again.
